Are you a recent graduate looking to gain meaningful experience in education before pursuing teacher training or a career in educational psychology?
A caring and inclusive primary school in Basildon is seeking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored support for a child with additional learning needs while developing valuable experience within a supportive primary school.
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with one pupil throughout the school day, supporting their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development. The successful 1:1 Learning Support Assistant will work alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement personalised strategies that enable the child to access learning and thrive in the classroom.
This role is particularly well suited to a graduate considering a future career in teaching, SEND education, or educational psychology. A 1:1 Learning Support Assistant will gain first-hand experience of behaviour management, child development, and inclusive educational practice, providing an excellent foundation for future teacher training or postgraduate study.
