Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Croydon

Job Type: Full-Time, Long Term (5 days a week), Day to Day Supply

Pay Rate: £95 - £110 per day

Job Overview:

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary schools in Croydon. The successful candidates will provide dedicated one-to-one support to pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access lessons, develop independence and remain engaged throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support to primary-aged pupils.
• Support access to classroom learning and activities.
• Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Follow individual education and support plans.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff.
• Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
• Maintain safeguarding and professional standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school or educational setting.
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN is required.
• Experience providing one-to-one support is highly desirable.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to support challenging behaviour where required.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
