1:1 Tutor - Chester
Location: Chester
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Prospero Teaching are currently looking for an experienced 1:1 Tutor to support a learner in Chester.
This is a flexible opportunity for an educator who can create personalised learning sessions, build rapport with young people and help them make meaningful academic progress.
Key Duties
- Deliver individualised tuition
- Establish appropriate learning objectives
- Plan and prepare engaging sessions
- Support development across core curriculum areas
- Identify gaps and areas requiring intervention
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit the learner
- Encourage motivation and positive learning habits
- Monitor and report on progress
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring young people
- Strong knowledge of core curriculum subjects
- Experience delivering 1:1 support
- Flexible and learner-focused approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching experience desirable
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to Work in the UK
- Two professional references relating to work with children
