Academics is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and supportive mainstream primary school in Westminster , who are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within their school.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and can provide consistent, nurturing 1:1 support throughout the school day.

Role Details

Location: Westminster
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: ASAP - July 2027
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: 95- 100 per day, dependent on experience
Role: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with SEMH needs within a mainstream classroom.
• Support the pupil with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Help the pupil access the curriculum and participate effectively in classroom activities.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent support.
• Help create a calm, safe and positive learning environment for the pupil.

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs .
• Ideally have experience working within a mainstream primary school .
• Be confident supporting children with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Have a calm, patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their potential.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
