About the Role
Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to support their finance department, operating on a fully remote basis. This role is ideal for an individual with a foundational understanding of accounting principles looking to expand their experience. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including processing invoices, assisting with bank reconciliations, and providing general administrative support to the finance team. Working remotely, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team, contributing to the efficient operation of financial processes from your home office. Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase and sales ledger invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Prepare payment runs and ensure timely settlement of supplier invoices.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing and data entry.
- Respond to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support with month-end closing activities as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role is advantageous.
- Good working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
- Excellent organisational skills and a meticulous approach to tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a fully remote environment.
