Job Description
We are hiring for our client, a successful FMCG organisation based in the Newry area, to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This Accounts Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team and provide key support across day-to-day accounting activities. The successful Accounts Assistant will assist with financial administration, reporting, reconciliations and maintaining accurate records within a fast-paced business environment.
Available immediately, this role would suit an organised and detail-focused finance professional who is looking for a short-term opportunity within a well-established organisation.

The Role
- Provide support across daily finance and accounting activities
- Process invoices, payments and financial transactions accurately
- Assist with bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support month-end processes and reporting requirements
- Assist with accounts payable and general ledger activities
- Investigate and resolve finance queries where required
- Update and maintain finance systems and spreadsheets
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects
The Person
- Previous experience within an accounts assistant, finance administrator or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good numerical skills with confidence working with financial data
- Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
- Available immediately or at short notice
- Experience within FMCG or a fast-paced environment would be advantageous
