About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support their busy finance team. This role operates on a hybrid model, combining remote work with essential office-based responsibilities in Bristol . You will be involved in a variety of accounting tasks, including assisting with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems, both physical and digital.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required by the finance manager.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in an accounts or finance department is required.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and good Excel skills.
- Understanding of fundamental accounting principles (e.g., double-entry bookkeeping).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, adapting to hybrid working demands.
