About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Accounts Manager to oversee their accounting functions in Southampton . This key role involves managing a small team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions, and contributing to the financial health of the business. You will be responsible for everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to preparing financial reports for management. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Lead and develop the accounts team, providing guidance and support.
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and assist with budget preparation.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Manager or in a similar senior accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including UK GAAP .
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel .
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills for liaising with internal departments and external parties.
