About the Role
Our client is seeking an organized and diligent Accounts Payable Clerk to manage their payables function from their offices in Cardiff . This role is vital for ensuring that all supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently, payments are made on time, and that strong relationships are maintained with vendors. You will be an integral part of the finance team, contributing to the smooth operation of the company's financial processes. Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct coding and authorisation.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries promptly.
- Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs via BACS, CHAPS, and international transfers.
- Maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring all supplier details are up-to-date and accurate.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals and prepayments.
- Respond to internal and external queries related to accounts payable.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
- Strong data entry skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Good understanding of the procure-to-pay cycle.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in Cardiff .
