About the Role
Our client is looking for an efficient and meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team, working remotely with occasional travel to their Sunderland office if needed. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. You will play a key part in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring financial controls are adhered to. Key Responsibilities
- Process all supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and authorisation.
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, goods received notes, and invoices.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs for suppliers.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries promptly.
- Maintain the integrity of the accounts payable ledger and vendor master file.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and provide support for audit requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is essential.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of the procure-to-pay process and basic accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of invoices.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal departments and external suppliers.
