Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Payable Specialist to manage their vendor payment processes from their Plymouth office. This role is essential for ensuring timely and accurate processing of all incoming invoices and payments, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and contributing to efficient financial operations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end accounts payable function, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding of financial procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring correct coding and authorisation.
• Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, managing BACS, CHAPS, and international payments.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain the vendor master file, ensuring all details are current and accurate.
• Respond to internal and external queries regarding invoice status and payment issues.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and provide supporting documentation for audits.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role is essential.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
