About the Role
Our client in Belfast is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Officer to join their finance department. This role is integral to maintaining healthy cash flow by ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices and managing customer accounts. You will be responsible for accurate invoicing, diligent follow-up, and resolving any customer billing queries. This position offers the chance to work within a supportive team environment and contribute to the financial stability of a reputable organisation based in Northern Ireland .
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and send out invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to follow up on overdue accounts.
- Investigate and resolve customer billing discrepancies and disputes.
- Post customer payments and ensure the accounts receivable ledger is up-to-date.
- Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging and collection status.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Accounts Receivable function or similar.
- Familiarity with accounting software and strong MS Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a diverse customer base and collection efforts.
- Understanding of credit control principles and debt collection practices.
