About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their busy practice in Plymouth . This hybrid role offers a flexible working arrangement, combining office-based responsibilities with the convenience of remote work. You will manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing their accounting needs from bookkeeping to year-end final accounts. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and excellent client management abilities, providing a great opportunity to advance your career in a respected firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for a diverse range of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact for their accounting queries.
- Oversee bookkeeping and ensure accurate processing of financial data.
- Assist with audit fieldwork for relevant clients as required.
- Identify opportunities to add value to clients through financial advice and strategic insights.
- Supervise and mentor junior members of the accounts team.
Requirements
- Qualified or nearly qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, AAT qualified by experience).
- Significant experience working in an accounting practice environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and client-facing skills.
