Accounts Senior or Part-Qualified Semi Senior, Stockport, £28,000 - £43,000 DOE
A partner-led accountancy firm in Stockport is expanding its accounts team to keep pace with a growing, varied client base, and is looking for someone who wants more than routine compliance work. You'll get direct exposure to partners, a broad portfolio spanning owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate clients, and a firm that's actively investing in the people who can grow with it.

Accounts Senior - Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
- Manage a varied portfolio of accounts clients
- Prepare statutory and management accounts for owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate clients.
Client Advisory
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building genuine relationships rather than one-off compliance contact.
Leadership & Team Development
- Support and review the work of more junior team members as your portfolio and experience develop.
- Work closely with partners on a day-to-day basis, with real visibility of how the practice is run.
Business Development
- Contribute to the firm's continued growth by identifying opportunities for additional services within your existing client portfolio.
- Part-qualified (minimum) or qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Solid general practice background, ideally from a similar-sized firm, with hands-on accounts preparation experience.
- Comfortable managing a varied portfolio with minimal supervision once up to speed.
- Strong UK accounting and tax knowledge, with the confidence to flag more complex tax matters appropriately.
Accounts Senior - Requirements
- Part-qualified (minimum) or qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Solid general practice background, ideally from a similar-sized firm, with hands-on accounts preparation experience.
- Comfortable managing a varied portfolio with minimal supervision once up to speed.
- Strong UK accounting and tax knowledge, with the confidence to flag more complex tax matters appropriately.
