About the Role
Our client is seeking a mathematically gifted and ambitious Actuarial Analyst to join their high-performing remote team. This role is integral to the company's long-term financial strategy, involving complex data analysis, modeling, and forecasting to support pricing, reserving, and solvency requirements within the insurance business. You will work with cutting-edge actuarial software and collaborate with senior actuaries and other departments to provide critical insights. This is a fully remote position offering significant professional growth, with a connection to our Reading hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and capital management.
- Perform complex data analysis and statistical modeling to support business decisions.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory returns and solvency assessments.
- Support the pricing of new insurance products and the review of existing ones.
- Investigate trends in claims data and provide insights to inform underwriting and reserving strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, explaining technical actuarial concepts in an accessible manner.
Requirements
- Progress towards an actuarial qualification (e.g., FIA, FMI) with a strong academic record in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience in an actuarial role within the insurance industry.
- Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, ResQ) and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex findings remotely.
