About the Role

Our client is looking for an aspiring and diligent Actuarial Assistant to join their established actuarial team in Nottingham . This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to pursue a career in actuarial science, supporting senior actuaries in complex financial modeling, risk assessment, and data analysis for insurance and financial products. You will contribute to critical calculations and reports that inform strategic business decisions for the company within the East Midlands . This role is ideal for someone with strong quantitative skills and a desire to learn and grow in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and validation of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial forecasting.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to support actuarial studies and reports.
• Help prepare actuarial valuations and regulatory filings under the guidance of senior actuaries.
• Conduct research on industry trends and new actuarial techniques.
• Support the actuarial team in ad-hoc projects and analysis as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong academic record with demonstrated progress towards actuarial qualifications (e.g., passing actuarial exams).
• Proficiency in mathematical and statistical concepts, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
