About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and qualified Actuary to join their hybrid team in Derby . This role is crucial for evaluating financial risks and uncertainties, primarily within the insurance sector. You will apply mathematical and statistical methods to assess the potential financial impact of future events, developing pricing models, reserving calculations, and strategic business insights. This position offers a dynamic hybrid work environment, allowing for collaboration in the Derbyshire office while maintaining remote flexibility, contributing to informed decision-making and long-term financial stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex actuarial calculations for pricing, reserving, and capital modeling.
• Analyze trends and assess the financial implications of various risk factors.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models using specialized software.
• Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to management and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and product development teams.
• Ensure compliance with actuarial standards of practice and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Fellow or Associate of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA/AIA) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant actuarial experience.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills.
• Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, balancing office and remote responsibilities.
