Adult Social Care Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and reliable Adult Social Care Assistant to become an integral part of their Community & Social Care team in Sunderland . This role focuses on providing essential daily living support to adults with a range of needs, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life within their own homes and the wider Sunderland community. You will work closely with individuals, their families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-standard, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including washing, dressing, and medication reminders.
• Support clients with meal preparation and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
• Help clients manage household tasks and maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, and community outings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the care team, reporting any changes in condition.
• Promote independence, dignity, and choice for all individuals receiving care.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an adult care setting is highly desirable, though not essential for committed individuals.
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends if required.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training and obtain relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
• A commitment to upholding confidentiality and professional standards.
