Adult Social Care Lawyer

A London Borough is seeking an Experienced Adults Lawyer to join their legal team on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled local government lawyer who is available at short notice and can hit the ground running.

The Role

You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation on a range of matters relating to:

• Adult Social Care
• Mental Health Law
• Court of Protection proceedings

Managing your own caseload, you will advise client departments and conduct a varied workload of Court of Protection matters, ensuring the provision of pragmatic and solution-focused legal support.

To be considered, you must have:

• Significant experience working within a Local Authority legal team
• Strong knowledge of legislation relating to Adult Social Care, Mental Health, and the Court of Protection
• Proven experience managing a busy Court of Protection caseload independently
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good IT skills, including experience using legal case management systems and recording time and case information accurately
• The ability to start at short notice
• Hybrid working
