About the Role

Our client is recruiting for a highly skilled Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer to join their advanced engineering department in Southampton . Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications using advanced CAD software .
• Perform detailed stress, thermal, and vibration analyses using FEA tools to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with stress engineers, aerodynamicists, and systems engineers to meet project requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, manufacturing drawings, and test plans.
• Support prototype development, testing, and qualification activities for flight hardware.
• Ensure designs comply with stringent aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100).

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace sector.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within a highly technical and collaborative team environment.
