About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly specialized Aerospace Propulsion Engineer to join their advanced research and development team in Oxford . This role is integral to the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge aircraft engine systems and propulsion technologies. You will contribute to projects aimed at enhancing engine efficiency, performance, and environmental compatibility, working within a team of leading experts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a focus on turbomachinery and propulsion systems, driving innovation in a key area of aviation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and develop components and systems for aircraft engines, including turbines, compressors, and combustion chambers.
- Conduct performance analysis and simulations for propulsion systems using specialized software tools.
- Support the testing and validation of engine components and complete systems, analyzing test data.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure the successful production of engine parts.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to engine performance, reliability, and durability.
- Stay current with advancements in aerospace propulsion technology and contribute to future design concepts.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in propulsion.
- Proven experience in aerospace propulsion design, analysis, or testing.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., CFD, FEA, thermodynamic modeling tools).
- Strong understanding of turbomachinery, combustion, and thermodynamic principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with engine test procedures and data acquisition systems is highly desirable.
