About the Role

Our client is seeking a warm, energetic, and reliable After School Club Assistant to join their team in Sunderland . This role involves supervising and engaging children aged 5-11 years in a variety of fun and educational activities after school hours. You will play a key part in creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can relax, play, and learn. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children safely and effectively during after-school hours.
• Organize and lead a range of age-appropriate games, crafts, and recreational activities.
• Provide a healthy snack and support children with homework if required.
• Ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all children.
• Communicate daily with parents regarding their child's attendance and any relevant information.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the club area.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school, club, or childcare setting.
• A genuine interest in child development and providing a positive after-school experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a responsible attitude.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures is essential.
