After School Club Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a friendly and reliable After School Club Assistant to support their childcare program in Reading . This hybrid role involves assisting with the supervision and care of school-aged children after school hours, providing a safe, engaging, and fun environment. You will help facilitate a range of activities, ensure children's well-being, and communicate with parents about their child's day. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for flexible working hours within the Berkshire area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising children aged 5-11 during after-school hours.
• Help organise and run a variety of stimulating activities, including games, crafts, and homework support.
• Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children in attendance.
• Prepare light snacks and ensure children's basic needs are met.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's participation and behaviour.
• Maintain a clean and organised play environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school or childcare setting.
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures is desirable.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
