About the Role

Our client is recruiting an enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support their team in Sunderland . This role involves assisting with the supervision and care of primary school-aged children in a fun and safe after-school environment. You will help organise and lead a variety of engaging activities, ensuring children have a positive and enjoyable experience until their parents collect them. This position is perfect for someone who loves working with children and is looking for flexible part-time hours during term time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of stimulating and varied after-school activities, including arts, crafts, sports, and games.
• Supervise children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Prepare and serve light snacks and drinks.
• Support children with homework if required.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the club environment.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and club staff.

Requirements

• Experience working with children aged 5-11 is preferred.
• A genuine interest in child development and play.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive team.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures in a childcare setting.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to tasks.
