After School Club Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and responsible After School Club Assistant to support their program in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on providing a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children aged 5-11 after school hours. You will assist in supervising children, organizing activities, and ensuring their well-being until parents or guardians collect them. The ideal candidate has a passion for working with children, is reliable, and possesses good communication skills to interact effectively with both children and parents.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the after-school club setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist in planning and delivering a range of stimulating games, crafts, and recreational activities.
• Prepare light snacks and manage tidy-up routines.
• Support children with homework or reading if required.
• Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Adhere to all club policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school or club setting.
• Passion for working with children and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of basic safeguarding principles.
• Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach.
