About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and responsible After School Club Leader to manage their programme in Portsmouth . This role involves overseeing the safety, engagement, and well-being of children aged 4-11 after school hours. You will be responsible for organising fun and educational activities, managing a small team of assistants, and ensuring a smooth operation of the club. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about children's development and who enjoys creating a positive and engaging environment outside of school hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children attending the after-school club.
• Plan and deliver a range of stimulating and age-appropriate activities, including arts, crafts, sports, and games.
• Manage and support a team of playworkers or assistants.
• Liaise with parents and school staff regarding children's attendance and behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and communications.
• Ensure the club environment is safe, clean, and well-resourced.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school or after-school setting.
• A qualification in childcare, playwork, or a related field is desirable.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A proactive approach and the ability to manage a team effectively.
