About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and reliable Agricultural Machinery Operator to join their farming operations in Portsmouth, Hampshire . In this essential role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of farm machinery for tasks such as ploughing, sowing, harvesting, and general land maintenance. You will ensure that all machinery is operated safely and efficiently, performing routine checks and basic maintenance to keep equipment in excellent working order. This is a practical, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is committed to maintaining high operational standards on the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, combines, harvesters, and other specialized agricultural machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on machinery, reporting any faults promptly.
• Execute tasks such as soil preparation, planting, cultivation, spraying, and harvesting according to instructions.
• Ensure the accurate application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of machinery and work areas.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating agricultural machinery, with a valid driver's license.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on farm equipment.
• Understanding of farming operations and crop cycles.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to agricultural work.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Team player with good communication skills.
