About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Agricultural Technician with a specialization in Soil Science to join their research and development team near Nottingham , operating on a hybrid basis. This role involves conducting laboratory and field-based analyses to assess soil health, fertility, and environmental impact. You will support the development of innovative soil management techniques and products aimed at improving agricultural productivity and sustainability. This position is perfect for someone with a strong scientific background and practical experience in soil analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of soil analyses, including physical, chemical, and biological testing.
- Collect soil samples from various agricultural sites and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used for soil testing.
- Interpret soil analysis data and contribute to reports and recommendations for soil improvement strategies.
- Assist in field trials and experiments designed to evaluate soil amendments and management practices.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards.
Requirements
- A degree or HND in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
- Practical experience in soil sampling and laboratory analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Good understanding of soil chemistry, physics, and biology.
- Ability to accurately record, interpret, and report on data.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate testing.
