Agricultural Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Agricultural Technician to support their farming operations based in Southampton . This role is hands-on and vital for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for routine servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting of a variety of agricultural tools, vehicles, and technology. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing the productivity of the farm's assets in Hampshire , working within a progressive agricultural setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and implements.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with farm equipment.
• Operate specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
• Assist with the installation, calibration, and setup of new farm technology and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the workshop and equipment storage areas.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or Technician, preferably with experience in agricultural or heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems found in agricultural equipment.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and performing complex repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping.
• A relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ in Engineering or Agriculture) is desirable.
