About the Role

You will be involved in a variety of practical tasks, from maintaining farm equipment and managing experimental plots to assisting with data collection and implementing new farming techniques under the guidance of senior scientists and managers. Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and planting machinery.
• Prepare and manage experimental plots for research trials, ensuring accurate layout and treatment application.
• Assist with the collection of agronomic data, including crop yields, pest incidence, and environmental measurements.
• Implement established protocols for irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
• Monitor crop health and identify any issues, reporting observations to the relevant personnel.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all farm operations and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related vocational subject.
• Previous experience working in an agricultural or horticultural setting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm machinery.
• Basic understanding of crop growth, soil types, and common agricultural pests and diseases.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
• Good physical fitness and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
