About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and diligent Agricultural Technician to support their farming operations in Portsmouth, Hampshire . This role is crucial for maintaining the performance and reliability of farm machinery, equipment, and technological systems. You will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of agricultural tools, from tractors to sophisticated sensor networks. This hands-on position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, a good understanding of electronics, and a commitment to ensuring the operational efficiency of the farm within the Agriculture & Forestry industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on farm machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
• Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot agricultural technology, including GPS systems, sensors, and automated irrigation.
• Assist with the operation of farm equipment during planting, cultivation, and harvesting seasons as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop and ensure proper inventory management of spare parts and supplies.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols while working with machinery and equipment.
• Support the farm management team with technical problem-solving and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Agricultural Technician , mechanic, or in a similar technical role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment.
• Familiarity with modern agricultural machinery and technology, including tractors, harvesters, and precision farming tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A valid driver's license is essential.
