Agroforestry Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Agroforestry Development Officer to join their team based in Nottingham . This role focuses on promoting and supporting the integration of trees and shrubs into farming systems to enhance environmental sustainability, economic viability, and social benefits. You will work closely with farmers and land managers across the region, providing technical advice, facilitating knowledge exchange, and supporting the implementation of innovative agroforestry projects that contribute to resilient and productive landscapes, driving the adoption of best practices in the East Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the benefits and implementation of agroforestry systems among farmers and landowners.
• Provide technical advice and support on the design and establishment of agroforestry projects.
• Facilitate workshops, field days, and knowledge-sharing events for farmers and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for funding and support for agroforestry initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of implemented agroforestry practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience or strong knowledge of agroforestry systems and integrated land management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
• Understanding of agricultural practices and challenges within the UK context.
