Agronomist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and analytical Agronomist to join their team in Birmingham . In this critical role, you will provide expert advice on soil management, crop nutrition, pest and disease control, and sustainable farming practices to optimize yield and quality for various agricultural clients. You will work closely with farmers, agronomists, and other agricultural professionals to implement effective strategies that enhance productivity while adhering to environmental best practices. This position offers a dynamic blend of field work and data analysis, contributing directly to the success of agricultural operations in the West Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct soil analysis and provide recommendations for nutrient management and fertilization programs.
• Advise on crop selection, planting techniques, and irrigation strategies to maximize yields.
• Identify and diagnose plant diseases, insect pests, and weed problems, recommending integrated management solutions.
• Monitor crop development and environmental conditions, providing timely and actionable insights.
• Educate farmers and agricultural stakeholders on the latest advancements in agronomy and sustainable agriculture.
• Maintain accurate records of field trials, client interactions, and implemented recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
• Proven experience as an Agronomist or in a similar agricultural advisory role.
• Strong understanding of plant physiology, soil chemistry, and entomology.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and agricultural software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise diverse stakeholders.
