Agronomy Consultant - Remote Support

About the Role

Our client is looking for a knowledgeable Agronomy Consultant to provide expert advice and support to farmers. This hybrid role allows for flexible working arrangements, combining remote consultations with occasional site visits across the Norwich region. You will help clients optimize crop production, improve soil health, and implement sustainable farming practices. Your guidance will be crucial in enhancing yields, reducing costs, and promoting environmentally sound agriculture, contributing to the success and sustainability of local farms. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on crop selection, planting, nutrition, pest, and disease management.
• Analyze farm data (yields, soil tests, weather) to develop tailored crop management plans.
• Conduct virtual consultations with farmers to assess challenges and recommend solutions.
• Educate clients on best practices for soil health, water management, and sustainable farming techniques.
• Stay informed about the latest agricultural research, technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Document client interactions and progress, providing follow-up support as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Practical experience in crop production, farm management, or agricultural consulting.
• Solid understanding of plant physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with farmers.
• Proficiency in using agricultural software and digital tools for analysis and record-keeping.
• Ability to conduct on-site visits when required.
