AI Ethics and Governance Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and thoughtful AI Ethics and Governance Lead to join their growing team in Bristol . In this crucial hybrid role, you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the ethical frameworks and governance policies for the company's AI initiatives. You will ensure that AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly, fairly, and transparently. This position requires a unique blend of technical understanding, ethical reasoning, and policy development expertise. You will work closely with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams to embed ethical considerations into the AI lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics and governance policies and guidelines.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments for new and existing AI systems.
• Advise on best practices for AI fairness, accountability, transparency, and privacy (FATE/FAP).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI projects align with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop training materials and conduct awareness programs on AI ethics for employees.
• Stay abreast of evolving AI regulations, ethical debates, and industry standards.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Law, Policy, Ethics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or technology governance.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their societal implications.
• Experience in developing policies, frameworks, or compliance programs.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and translate them into practical solutions.
