About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated AI Ethics Officer to join their team in Belfast , ensuring the responsible and ethical development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. This role is crucial in navigating the complex ethical landscape of AI, establishing robust guidelines, and fostering a culture of ethical awareness across the organization. You will work closely with AI researchers, engineers, legal teams, and policy makers to address critical issues such as bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI systems. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics policies, guidelines, and best practices.
- Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for new and existing AI projects.
- Provide expert guidance and training on AI ethics to internal teams, including researchers, engineers, and product managers.
- Monitor AI systems for fairness, bias, and transparency, recommending mitigation strategies.
- Engage with external stakeholders, regulators, and industry groups on AI ethics matters.
- Investigate and resolve ethical concerns related to AI development and deployment.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics.
- Proven experience (4+ years) working in AI ethics, responsible AI, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning principles, and their societal implications.
- Experience in policy development, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and ethical frameworks concerning AI.
