AI Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled AI Infrastructure Engineer to build and maintain the foundational systems that power their artificial intelligence initiatives in Derby . This role involves managing and optimizing the hardware, software, and cloud resources essential for training and deploying complex AI models at scale. You will work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure they have the robust, high-performance infrastructure they need to succeed. This is a critical role for an individual who understands the unique demands of AI workloads and is passionate about building reliable and scalable systems to support cutting-edge technology development in Derbyshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable AI infrastructure, including compute clusters, storage solutions, and networking.
• Deploy and maintain MLOps platforms and tools for streamlined model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Optimize infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability of AI workloads.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide solutions.
• Implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with data governance policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), or MLOps.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and their hardware dependencies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
