About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled AI Infrastructure Specialist to manage and optimize the technological backbone supporting their advanced AI initiatives in Nottingham . You will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and scaling of the hardware and software infrastructure required for machine learning model training and inference. This role involves working with high-performance computing environments, cloud resources, and specialized AI hardware to ensure our systems are efficient, reliable, and cost-effective. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of system administration, cloud technologies, and the unique demands of AI workloads, playing a key role in enabling our organization's AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain AI/ML infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking components.
- Deploy and configure software for machine learning workloads, such as deep learning frameworks and data processing tools.
- Optimize infrastructure performance for large-scale model training and inference.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
- Manage cloud-based AI resources and ensure cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to understand their infrastructure needs and provide support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, system administration, or cloud engineering.
- Experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of high-performance computing (HPC) environments is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, collaborating with teams both in the Nottingham office and remotely.
