About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled AI Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their sophisticated AI infrastructure in Liverpool . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimal performance of their AI hardware and software systems, including servers, networks, and data storage solutions. You will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of complex AI environments, supporting data scientists and engineers in their work. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and related AI infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization.
- Manage user access, permissions, and security protocols for AI systems and data.
- Perform regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the AI and data science teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a focus on managing server environments.
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and Windows Server.
- Familiarity with network protocols, security principles, and virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts and hardware requirements (e.g., GPUs) is a strong plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
