Air Traffic Controller

About the Role

Our client is recruiting for an experienced and vigilant Air Traffic Controller to manage airspace safely and efficiently at their busy facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for directing aircraft movements on the ground and in the air, ensuring separation standards are maintained and managing traffic flow to optimize airport capacity. This critical role demands exceptional concentration, rapid decision-making, and clear communication under pressure. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control aircraft movements in assigned airspace using radar and communication systems.
• Issue clearances and instructions to pilots to ensure safe separation and efficient traffic flow.
• Manage ground movements, taxiing aircraft, and gate assignments.
• Respond to emergencies and unusual situations, coordinating with relevant agencies.
• Maintain continuous vigilance and situational awareness of the airspace and surrounding environment.
• Communicate effectively with pilots, airport operations, and other air traffic control units.

Requirements

• Valid Air Traffic Controller license and relevant ratings.
• Proven experience in a live ATC environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Thorough understanding of aviation regulations and procedures.
