About the Role
Our client is recruiting for a skilled and vigilant Air Traffic Controller to manage and direct air traffic operations at a major airport in Birmingham . In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic, preventing collisions, and providing vital information to pilots. You will operate within a high-pressure, dynamic environment, utilising sophisticated radar and communication systems. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control all aircraft movements within assigned airspace, ensuring adherence to flight plans and air traffic control instructions.
- Utilise radar, communication systems, and other technological tools to maintain situational awareness and manage traffic flow.
- Issue clearances, advisories, and information to pilots regarding weather, runway conditions, and other pertinent flight data.
- Coordinate with other air traffic control units, airline operations, and airport authorities to ensure seamless air traffic management.
- Identify and respond effectively to potential conflicts or emergencies, implementing safety procedures to prevent incidents.
- Maintain high levels of concentration and vigilance throughout shifts to ensure continuous safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid Air Traffic Controller license and relevant certifications.
- Proven experience in managing air traffic in a busy airport environment.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness for extended periods.
- Proficiency with air traffic control systems and technologies.
