About the Role
Our client is recruiting a highly vigilant and skilled Air Traffic Controller to manage the safe and efficient flow of air traffic in the airspace surrounding Leeds . This demanding role requires exceptional concentration, rapid decision-making abilities, and clear communication skills to coordinate aircraft movements, prevent collisions, and manage emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and direct aircraft movements on the ground and in the air within assigned airspace using radar, communication systems, and visual observation.
- Issue clearances, advisories, and instructions to pilots to ensure safe separation and efficient routing.
- Coordinate with other air traffic control units, airlines, and emergency services during normal operations and in emergency situations.
- Manage unexpected events, such as medical emergencies on board or adverse weather conditions, implementing contingency plans.
- Maintain a constant awareness of airspace status, weather conditions, and potential hazards affecting flight operations.
- Adhere strictly to established procedures, regulations, and safety protocols to ensure the integrity of air traffic management.
Requirements
- Valid Air Traffic Controller license and relevant ratings for the assigned airspace.
- Extensive experience in controlling various types of air traffic in busy terminal or en-route environments.
- Exceptional situational awareness, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other aviation professionals.
- Medical fitness certification as required for air traffic controllers.
- Demonstrated understanding of aviation meteorology and flight planning principles.
