Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge projects in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems for aircraft applications.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications.
• Perform electrical load analysis, power system simulations, and thermal analysis.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (structures, avionics, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during design, manufacturing, and flight testing phases.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant aerospace electrical standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft electrical systems design and development.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, AC/DC distribution, wiring harnesses, and connectors.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical) and simulation tools.
• Experience with avionics interfaces and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with safety-critical systems design and relevant aerospace standards (e.g., DO-254).
