About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their vital operations team in Bristol . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe turnaround of aircraft by maintaining and repairing the fleet of specialized ground equipment used at the airport. You will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of various GSE, from baggage tractors to passenger stairs and de-icing units, playing a key role in the smooth functioning of airport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of aircraft ground support equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of GSE.
- Ensure all safety procedures and regulations are strictly followed during maintenance and repair operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
- Operate GSE safely and efficiently when required for testing or repositioning.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technician in maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain airport security clearance.
- Experience with aviation ground support equipment is a significant advantage.
