Aircraft Interior Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and technically adept Aircraft Interior Design Engineer to join their prestigious facility in Southampton, Hampshire . You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative interior layouts and systems for commercial and private aircraft. This role requires a keen eye for aesthetics combined with a deep understanding of aerospace materials, ergonomics, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver bespoke, functional, and visually stunning aircraft interiors that exceed client expectations and adhere to the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative and functional interior design concepts for aircraft cabins, galleys, and lavatories.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications for interior components and systems.
• Select appropriate aerospace-certified materials and finishes, considering weight, durability, and aesthetics.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant aviation safety regulations and cabin certification standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to oversee the production and integration of interior elements.
• Conduct design reviews and present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Design, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft interior design or cabin engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and design visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of ergonomics, human factors, and aerospace materials.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations pertaining to cabin interiors.
• Excellent creativity, communication, and presentation skills.
