Aircraft Interiors Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and technically proficient Aircraft Interiors Engineer to contribute to their cabin design and modification projects in Norwich . This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of innovative interior solutions that enhance passenger comfort, safety, and functionality. You will work closely with design teams, manufacturing, and certification authorities to bring new cabin concepts to life. The ideal candidate has a passion for aviation interiors and a strong understanding of materials, ergonomics, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop aircraft interior components, including seating, galleys, lavatories, and overhead bins.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
• Ensure designs comply with aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA) for cabin safety and habitability.
• Select appropriate materials considering weight, durability, aesthetics, and fire safety.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure effective production and installation of interior elements.
• Support testing and certification of interior modifications and new designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in aircraft interior design or cabin engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and knowledge of rendering tools.
• Understanding of aircraft interior regulations and certification processes.
• Strong knowledge of materials used in aircraft interiors.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
