About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Aircraft Painter to join their team at a state-of-the-art facility in Portsmouth . This role is responsible for the application of primer, paint, and coatings to aircraft exteriors, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets both aesthetic and protective requirements. You will work with a variety of specialized paints and equipment, adhering to strict safety and environmental protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented painter with a keen eye for detail to contribute to the visual presentation and preservation of aircraft in a fast-paced, professional setting in Portsmouth, Hampshire , within the UK aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, masking, and sanding.
- Apply primer, paint, and specialized coatings using spray guns and other application equipment.
- Ensure a smooth, even finish, adhering to specific colour schemes and manufacturer specifications.
- Mix paints to precise colour matches and specifications.
- Inspect finished work for defects and perform touch-ups as required.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to paint usage and disposal.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Aircraft Painter or in a similar industrial painting role.
- Knowledge of various paint systems, primers, and corrosion-inhibiting compounds used in aviation.
- Proficiency in using specialized painting equipment and tools.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, following strict safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to achieving a high-quality finish.
- Understanding of environmental regulations regarding paint application and waste disposal.
