About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely from Plymouth or any suitable location. This role is pivotal in analyzing and optimizing the performance characteristics of aircraft, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and operational capability. You will utilize sophisticated modeling tools and data analysis techniques to assess flight dynamics, fuel efficiency, and operational limitations. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and predict aircraft performance data, including takeoff, climb, cruise, and landing phases.
- Develop and validate performance models using sophisticated software and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Optimize flight profiles and operational procedures to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
- Provide performance data and technical support for aircraft certification and flight test programs.
- Conduct analysis on the impact of environmental conditions and aircraft configurations on performance.
- Collaborate with design, flight test, and operations teams to address performance-related issues.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field with a specialization in performance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft performance engineering .
- Strong theoretical knowledge of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency with performance analysis software and simulation tools (e.g., PROOSIS, FlightGear).
- Experience with data analysis and programming languages like Python or MATLAB.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
