About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their technical team based in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK . This role is crucial for optimizing aircraft operations, ensuring efficiency, and enhancing safety through in-depth performance analysis. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting flight data, developing performance models, and providing recommendations to flight operations and engineering departments. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, and flight mechanics, coupled with excellent data analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze flight data to assess aircraft performance parameters such as fuel efficiency, climb rates, and cruise speeds.
• Develop and validate mathematical models to predict aircraft performance under various conditions.
• Investigate and troubleshoot deviations from expected performance, identifying root causes.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations on operational procedures to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure aircraft are operating at peak efficiency.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on aircraft performance findings.

Requirements

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in aircraft performance engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and flight mechanics principles.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
