Aircraft Propulsion Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Aircraft Propulsion Engineer to join their remote-based team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the development and optimization of advanced aircraft engine technologies from anywhere. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of propulsion systems, from conceptual design and analysis to performance testing and in-service support. This role requires a deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and engine mechanics, coupled with excellent remote collaboration skills, enabling you to drive innovation and ensure the efficiency and reliability of cutting-edge propulsion solutions within a fully remote, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and design aircraft propulsion systems, including jet engines, turboprops, and electric propulsion.
• Perform thermodynamic and fluid dynamic simulations to optimize engine performance and efficiency.
• Develop and test engine components and sub-systems, ensuring compliance with performance and safety requirements.
• Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) on propulsion systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain partners remotely to ensure component quality and timely delivery.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in aerospace propulsion.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in propulsion.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft engine design, analysis, or testing.
• Proven expertise in gas turbine engine technology and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software.
• Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
